A commission I completed for clockworkdragon :



It was a lot of fun to do, actually. Getting a little bolder in terms of blocking in large areas of shade with India ink, involving variable line width, in general trying to move away from using on width of fine liner on everything, and give an entire scene rather than a floating figure. One of my big influences right now is Darrick Robertson, especially his work on Transmetropolitan. His art manages to mix up big bold shapes with amazing detail, his city scenes are full of these characters and snippets that really draw you in. Plus he's bloody amazing at portraying emotions whilst making a person still consistantly appear to be the same person, facially.
Must put up more artwork-related posts in future. Also making a few more open to the public from now on- at least, the art-related ones, not so much the personal stuff.

Moving into new shared house tomorrow wish me luck ;)

It might be a while (A week or so) until I've got the internet set up in new place, but I'll still be contactable through mobile and will probably be able to check emails at Uni on Monday.

I've had something on my mind for the past few days but haven't really said anything, I really need some thoughts, though:

So, finally finishing off damn art final major project thing. Will be uploading the pics to my art journal, later tonight maybe. Have sent images off to be printed- one set of little playing cards and two poster-sized prints with all the full sized images. Still afraid of going into Leopard Press, that shop is full of giant dogs and the woman that runs it frightens me.
Getting things printed costs around £38 which isn't that bad. When I went to order the poster-sized I found out there was a special offer on for June so the two BIG prints cost £13 rather than about £50, which was very very nice. Whew.

Parents are buggering off to Portugal tomorrow for a week! Hurrah! A week of freedom!

And they're leaving me money to cover food etc! Hurrah again!
I think that's about all for now, but to finish, a couple of photos the two kittehs belonging to hellion, who I saw last weekend. Which was nice :D.

So, I forgot to post this up on Saturday, but I got back from China mostly alive! Go me!
It was very good. But very cold.
Will do a proper update with photos etc soon-ish, but at the moment...am so...very...tired...

Just to let people know that from tomorrow until the 11th (next Sunday) I am going to be on the other side of the world in Beijing, China.

I've just come across www.pandora.com and it goddamn rocks.
Enter in one band/song you really like and it'll build a radiostation for you. You rate each song it selects, and from that its suggestions grow better and better.

Damn this rocks :)

My cat is very strange sometimes.

I wake up at 4am. The sun's come up and the birds are yelling their fucking heads off outside. I go to the bathroom and pass my cat on the way. I tell him, rather grouchily, to 'go and sort out those fucking birds outside'.

He gives me A Look.

He goes.

5am. I wake up again. The cat is bouncing around happily and yammering like so "Mrrrrup! Mayapap! Mgrrr!"
There is a large grey blur on the floor. I put on my glasses. It's a pigeon. Somehow the bastard went out and caught me a whole sodding wood pigeon. And now he wants me to deal with it. Groggily, I thanks him for the wonderful present, and get the pigeon down into the outside bin with use of kitchen roll, a dustpan, and rubber gloves.

Ew.

Okay girly post time. Have been messing about- dyed my hair proper blueblack again ;) and then added a few steaks with this temporary stuff- actually pretty impressive though it does make ya hair go rather stiff.

By now I pretty sure most of you will have heard about the quake in SE Asia, the latest figure was about 60,000 dead and still rising.
I had three family friends on the beach in Sri Lanka, one of the worst hit areas. They were all very very bloody lucky. Two were in a beach cabin which got swept 200 yards down the road, and escaped unharmed.
The other was actually out swimming when it hit. He got taken to hospital.

With minor cuts and bruises.

Because Epilogue requires backgrounds, and because I wanted to get this onto epilogue...I added a bit of vaguely art nouveau stuffage in the back. I think it helps the composition. *ponders*

Okay, have given up on the brenna picture (for the moment at least) and been working on a piccie of lyris mid-sarcastic comment. Thinking of doing the skin a sorta bright creamy pale peach, not sure about dress colours yet. The purpler background stays, because it rocks ;)
